The Art Village at the Valley School is set around a Banyan tree forming a part of the amphitheatre. The crude open-air theatre emanated from the old banyan tree representing the rudiments of an art village. A network of spaces is used to guide visitors through corridors, courts and stepped paths and into large, airy pavilions and classrooms amidst the greenery. The aesthetic is spartan and true to form and material. Built on a low-budget, with 6m span modules the building comprises of unplastered table-mounted brick, salvaged doors and windows and clay tiles.
