The redevelopment of Nirlon’s old manufacturing facility in Goregaon, Mumbai, posed a substantial master planning challenge in attaining a high building density within a defined land space. An additional challenge was to address the flow of rainwater since the site sits along the path of natural flow from the higher portions of the undulating terrain of Goregaon. An elaborate underground drainage system was set up and a 250m long surface water feature was also included as a part of the master plan to prevent flooding during the monsoons.
All the buildings skim around the central landscaped area and extreme care has been taken in the architectural design and the material used to ensure a LEED Gold level certification for this project.
